UN Experts Meeting on Humanitarian UAVs

  1. Patrick- this sounds very interesting. What are the dates for this meeting? I am presently working in UAV initiatives and living in New Zealand. I am also one of the founding members of the Matternet Project from 2011.

I'll be very interested in learning more specifics of the event and dates.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi Arturo, thanks for your note. I've been in touch with Poala as I really wanted Matternet represented (and to give one of the presentations) but she said she and Andrea were not available. The meeting is on November 6th. Have you been in touch with New Zealand Red Cross? They are on the Advisory Board of the Humanitarian UAV Network. I may be in NZ in March. My email:

  3. It's unfortunate they can't make it. To be clear, I don't work at Matternet Inc (the Matternet project began in 2011 with a team of 18 co-founders).

I am working across industry, academia, gov, NGOs and non-profits in New Zealand.

I will send you an email with more details. It'd have been great for me to have been aware of is earlier and perhaps join.

Now that New Zealand also has a seat in the Security Council, it brings a heightened opportunity I believe to highlight advances in the demilitarization of the technology and the rapid adoption of humanitarian uses and incentives for open innovation.
