Everyone is talking about Edward Snowden and his revelations about US Government surveillance. There are serious implications in the age we live in where surveillance and technology seem to be superseding our rights.
Wouldn’t it be great if the President of the ACLU, the key researchers from Google, Microsoft, MIT and the US Military along with the most prominent power brokers in the worlds of technology, ethics and social advocacy came together in one place? It is happening, for the first time they will all be together for three days. You can be there too. The University of Toronto is hosting the IEEE Technology and Science Conference from June 27th to 29th.

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

The conference will also feature the father of artificial intelligence Marvin Minsky from MIT, the originator of wearable technology Toronto’s own Steve Mann and Ray Kurzweil who Forbes magazine has called “The rightful heir to Thomas Edison” and the 8th most important entrepreneur in the United States.
