  1. The story did note the code of ethics I published on DroneJournalism.org, but I don't totally agree with the author's assessment that drones won't "revolutionize" journalism. It may depend on one's definition of "revolution," but I certainly believe that using unmanned aerial systems to collect data -- that is, quantifiable, verifiable, testable, geospatial data -- will allow journalists to step beyond hearsay and arrive to truth in an investigation. I think that's a revolutionary notion.

Also, plugging DroneJournalism.org's open mebership system here: "We are a network of people who are looking at ways to integrate drones (unmanned aerial systems) into news reporting and investigations, and/or are actually developing the drones themselves. This doesn't mean anyone has to have a professional affiliation -- we are just as accepting of independent journalists and students. We are also open to anyone who may not consider themselves journalists, such as independent UAS contractors who are looking for work in the media."

  2. Well.....I'm glad you got to it before I did Matthew. For the first sentence I was in then as I do I speed read through key terms till I find a refute. The term "ethics" is like a moth to a firelight with me so. in one sentence we have that then a paradoxical end....with your name coined between.....pointing back 6 months which might as well be 6 years....from some comfortable island in the Caribbean. Thank goodness you put Professional in your community title. Someone needs to be one thats for sure.
