del.icio.us

It's interesting to note how many times del.icio.us has crashed since yahoo took over the reigns. Given that it's one of the web machine's largest players would normally suggest that signs reading 'del.icio.us is down for emergency maintenance. we'll be back as soon possible' would not appear.

Hopefully nothing more sinister is afoot.

Mobile Readings

Some weekend reading.

Web 2.0 on the move.

I'm working on the premise that student generated content from mobile enabled learning experiences ( geo, blog, DVB-H ) will now have leverage in a eduVOD environment - blogged content packaged and streamed as RSS enabled resources for educators searching by topic, genre, subject or key tag word.

Imagine bricklayer 002 - WMV 4.00 mins. from Headland High in conj. Boral ( also available in 4gp. on-d)

Current trends in mobile learning ? Some great ones being chatted about here.

The webs mobile - we knew that - now it's time to know that and employ that and be that ( I believe)

Anybody using Squidoo yet ?

Yahooooooo ! does del.icio.us

Seems the shift to Yahoo might have confused del.icio.us a little.

I've noticed that the sign said ' back in n hour' in black and white - that was six hours ago. Worse than the local botleshop here in Cronulla that's decided to shut down altogether !

With ten del.icio.us accounts splicing knowledge together i'm sure no ones impressed. It will be interesting to see what happens when ASIO purchases Google.

The growth of new ways to communicate seem destined to have breakdowns in communication.

Mobile Wallet

It looks like the mobile wallet has arrived.

I must admit paying for things via a mobile phone would certainly ease things for me although there are a multitude with issues as to the security and the interoperability of systems grabbing personal data for bot use.

This link will go out to something I'm tagging through del.icio.us/mlearning.

I also read with great interest in what Joi Ito is reading and doing.

Great blog and lots of interesting currency particularly given the way it's reporting on growing OS developments and applicabilities for OZ market.

Accessibility

Andrew Downie from TAFE NSW CLI today gave me fascinating insight into the issue of mobile screen readers for PDA and standard phone environments.

What occured to me was the range of possibilities for sight impaired and deaf students using mobile screen readers. Andrew alerted to me to a product called

http://www.codefactory.es/mobile_speak_pocket/mspeak_pocket.htm

It's obvious to me that the RFID tagging environment could easily link with mobile audio readers, imbedded devices that trigger Java application driven programs for interpretive touring etc. What remains to be seen is the body of knowledge on adaptive technologies that ensure accessibility for readily accesible phones. I'm looking forward to finding out more on what ensues and I'll be tagging it via del.icio.us

There's a wealth of stuff out their on adaptive technology and the more I'm reading the more I'm enthused.

Engageme - I'm Engaged.

The End.

The last part of the Engageme project has now finished. I have really enjoyed the process - the content speaks for itself.

Time for a consolidated approach.

Monday

The Engageme project is now coming to a close.

The digital story is now complete and Anne Paterson will present this at the up-coming ELTG AFLF showcase in Melbourne which I have opted not to attend. Given that I have online work to complete relating to the Engageme blog then I feel it's best to do things in a more orderly matter. ........as much as possible any way. There is lots to do and lots of positive things happening.

Today will also see the distribution of the subscribers of my old blog and others so will mean I need to install the XML feeds atom address button. Leigh Blackall and I had a chat about his posts being picked up by Stephen Downes and I was keen to point out that the LMS debate may well be looming larger and become more prevelant in institutional banter however I feel that constructing and creating more appropriate systems to be of better value that 'bagging' old ones.

It's sunny here in Sydney. It rained all of last week. Sydney needs the water.

I'll try loading an image from my latest entries at moblog.co.uk. I've got to get onto those guys about 2006. Back to the online learning resource development.

12.07AM

It is silent.

Someone said to me a number of years ago ( that's right - Rob Muir ) that silence is golden because we get so little of it in our lives. Like - real silence.....quiet.......no chattering monkeys etc.

I tend to agree.

This will be the second post in my blog since I crashed the last one. Kind of liberating in a way yet I'll probably persist and put it all back - so much for streamlining. Had some fun with Leigh Blackall working out that it was a simple slip of the cpanel prompt to get rid of the last archive and that the post setting pulldown menu is right where it should be 'post and comment options'. Duh ! What a dill I can be..............

It's great speaking with someone who is thinking of educational anarchy as a tool for progressive thinking. I firmly believe in very little that has anything to do with systems decommisioning but can see the value in having de-architects around to sometimes challenge our perceptions. Personally I feel we are in for an interesting century and that we'd better get used to the 'machine' age as we are all living inside of it.

Tommorow will be spent working online with the Engageme project digital story and then working on the Engagme.net blog. I'll probably spend a little time walking, then some exercising, manadatory coffee break, breakfast and then into it.

Had a shocking nights sleep - dreaming of loss of my kids and other stuff like dying with a dead arm etc. The attached 'Alex' is seeking a partner, someone to cuddle and be close to. Berk.

Smothering mothering stuff. So looking forward to relating differently and doing things just as it is without the emotional overtures. Maybe people will feel more inclined to be present with me and not bullshit their way into my psyche. More dramas unfolding I can feel. More feelings. More emotions. What a joke......

Signing out. It's now an hour later. Chatting with Melinda again about old funny times. Mat's a cack - love his humour - so real and in your face.
